Silly Symphony Cartoons

Silly Symphony series was a series of 75 cartoons, beginning with 'The Skeleton Dance' in 1929. Composer Carl Stalling suggested a second series to Walt Disney that would be different from the Mickey Mouse series, which was based on musical themes, and each would feature a different cast of characters. The series served as the training ground for the animators and other Disney artists as they prepared for the feature films.
